Alkanet Root Natural Dye Fabrics Grey Purple Green, reds

Also known as Dyers Alkanet. Alkanet can produce a wide range of colours. Most commonly are the greys, lavenders and purples but reds can also be achieved. To extract the reds the it needs to be dissolved in rubbing alcohol, methylated spirit (vodka also works quite well 😉). Alkanet is very PH sensitive so results will vary from region to region.
