Logwood also known as Bloodwood is an extremely versatile natural dye. It was once used as a PH indicator. When used with iron it produces deep purples and even black but when used with citric acid it produces yellow reds. Logwood has good wash fastness but moderate light fastness, the use of even a small amount of iron will greatly improve its light fastness. A great natural dye for textiles,paper and leather.
